The association, Themar trifft Europa, which translates as “Themar meets Europe,” is supported by the city. Its mandate is to organizes a wide-range of activities.
Over the years, its geographical range has expanded beyond Europe as it took responsibility for the laying of Stolpersteine for those whose lives were distorted by the Nazi Regime between 1933-1945. Starting in 2013, 66 Stolpersteine have been laid within Themar, and more will be laid in the coming years.
As well, the association organizes visits of descendants of the former Jewish families whenever they travel to Themar from countries throughout the world.
