Ship’s manifest of Martin Rosskamm’s voyage from Bremen/Germany to New York City/NY, 04 February 1936-10 February 1036
Ship’s manifest of Martin Rossmann leaving Bremen, Germany on 4 February 1936. He had received his visa to enter the United States on 13 Jan 1936 from the American Consul in Berlin (see right blue oval). The ship’s manifest initially identified his race as “German” but handwriting changed this to “Hebrew.” Source: Ancestry.comThe second page of the ship’s manifest confirms that Adolf Rosskamm in Schwarza was Martin’s father, and that his uncle Sol Reinthal (probably Nandl’s brother) was sponsoring Martin’s entry into the States. As well, we learn that Martin paid for his third-class passage. Upon landing in New York City on 10 February, Martin intended to travel to Cleveland, Ohio where his uncle lived.
