Between the Reich Association of Jews in Germany and
the spouses Hugo Israel Grünbaum

legally represented by……

the following home purchase agreement was concluded

1.

The spouses, Hugo Israel Grünbaum recognize/acknowledge the following:
Since the Reich Association is responsible for raising the funds for the expenses of all persons to be accommodated collectively (in Theresienstadt), including those persons in need of assistance, it is the duty of all persons designated for communal accommodation who have assets to ensure that the purchase price they pay to the Reich Association not only covers the costs of their own accommodation. but also, as far as possible, to raise the funds to care for those in need.

Buy community accommodation from 19.09.1942 onwards
with an amount of 850RM (in words: eight hundred and fifty . . . . . . . . . . . . RM),

The purchase amount shall be paid as follows:
a) in cash: 850-
b) by the enclosed deed – assignment of

Items may only be brought into the shared accommodation in accordance with Instructions from the authorities.

4.

a) Upon conclusion of the contract, the obligation is assumed to provide the contractual partner(s) for life, to provide him/her with accommodation and meals, to have his/her laundry washed, to provide him/her with medical care and medication if necessary and to ensure that he/she is hospitalized if necessary.
b) The right to other accommodation is not available.
c) The contract partner(s) may not make any claims for a change in the current form of accommodation.

5.

If a physical or mental illness of the presentation partner(s) or any other condition arises, which means that residence in the shared accommodation is no longer possible and another accommodation must be found, the Reichsvereinigung is empowered to take the necessary measures. The same applies in the event of repeated gross violations of the rules of the shared accommodation.

6.
a) The purchase contract becomes the property of the Reichsvereinigung upon delivery.
b) A legal claim to repayment of this amount does not exist, even upon the death of the contractual partner or if the contract is terminated for other reasons.
