Lieber Willi!
Deinen so sehr schönen großen und ausführlichen Brief habe ich erhalten u.[nd] mich gefreut, daß es dir wenigstens gut geht. Ich werde den Brief von Dir aufheben, damit ihn l.[ieber] Papa u.[nd] Herbert doch noch lesen kann. Heute sind sie schon 8 Tage fort [d.h. im KZ Buchenwald]. Bubi [Norbert, geb. 1922] Sander ist auch fort u.[nd] Herr [Moritz] Levinstein u.[nd] Onkel Lev [Leo Nussbaum] u.s.w. Für dich hat man sich auch interessiert [und ihn auch verhaftet und ins Buchenwald verschleppt]. Ich bin froh, daß du dort bist. – Von Meinhold [Müller in Italien] hatte ich einen großen Brief, sie wissen immer noch nicht bestimmt wann sie dort wegkommen. Schreibe mir immer die Arbeitseinteilung dort u.[nd] sonst die ganze Lebensweise, ich interessiere mich für alles. Deine Uhr ist abgeschickt. Wenn ich gel.[egentlich] Mützchen [sehe] werde ich dir noch welche [schicken]. Ich weiß sonst [nichts zu berichten] Erfreue (sic) bald wieder durch ein par (sic) Zeilen [von dir]. Mama

Ich habe mich ja so sehr mit deine [Zeilen] gefreut, du hast so viel Schönes gesehen und ich glaube bestimmt, daß du dich gut dort einlebst. Wenn du Alberts [Alert Wolf, Floras Bruder] Adresse brauchst: Albert Wolf 11413 Ovid Place St. Albans L.J. V.Y. U.S.A.
Du weißt ja selbst, daß er sich freut, wenn du ihm schreibst. Eben kommt ein Brief von Meinhold, er fährt am 21. 1 [= eine] G[anze] w[oche] nach Schweden. Tante Martha [Müller?] und Tante Klara [Eisenfresser, die Schwester von Floras Grossmutter, Karoline Mayer, geb. Eisenfresser] wohnen bei uns, ich bin viel hier bei der lb. [=lieben] Mama und du lb. [= lieber] kleiner mußt dir keine Sorgen machen. Ich habe euch für die lb. [= lieben] Eltern ganz dringend Bürgschaften bestellt und ich hoffe, sie werden bald kommen. Dir, mein lieber Willi wünsche ich weiter alles Gute und bin mit den herzlichsten Grüßen

My Dear Willi!
I have received your very long, large and detailed letter and am very happy that at least you are feeling well. I will keep your letter so that dear father and Herbert can still read it after all. Today, they have been gone eight days [since their imprisonment in Buchenwald KZ]. Bubi [Norbert, b. 1922] Sander is gone as well and Mr. [Moritz] Levinstein and Uncle Lev [Leo Nussbaum, Klaras brother in Hannover] and so forth. They [probably the Gestapo] were also interested in you. I am happy, that you are over there. – I have received a long letter from Meinhold [Müller, Willi’s brother]. They still don’t know when they will get away from there [from Italy]. Write me about the division of labour there and generally about the whole way of life. I am interested in everything. Your watch has been sent. When, by chance, I should spot some caps, I will send you some. Apart from that, I don’t [have any other news] Happy to [hear from you] again. Love, Mama

You know very well that he is happy when you write him. Just know a letter arrived from Meinhold, he is going to Schandau on the 21. of January for a whole week. Aunt Marett and Aunt Klara live with us, I am often here with dear mother and you, my dear small one, don’t have to worry. For the dear parents I have ordered sureties and I hope that they will arrive soon. For you, my dear Willi, I wish all the best and remain with the most cordial greetings,
